The innovative bakers at Alvarado Street Bakery have been sprouting organic whole grains at our cooperatively-owned bakery since 1980. We found that wen you sprout whole grains, you get the full benefit of both great nutrition and great taste. We sprout the whole grains by soaking them in filtered water for several days...until they begin to grow. We then transform these living sprouts into the unique dough that becomes the basis of all of our recipes.
Sprouting grains helps to increase the availability of some nutrients. Sprouted whole grains are easy to digest and contain essential vitamins, minerals and fiber.
